Stopped for late lunch on our way back from Houston. Pleasantly surprised by the excellent food quality and extremely quick service. Complimentary chips and salsa was fresh, not oily and good level of spice compared to a lot of Mexican food places. Costillas de puercos was excellent; flavorful and charro beans was delicious! Veg tostada with avocado (suggested by server) was very fresh and good. Picked up a piece of Tres leches and found it very good too - not too sweet and just the right moist level. While the prices seemed high at first glance, when we were done, walked away delighted with what we got for our money. All the best to the restaurant! Would definitely recommend if you are okay with a hole in the parking/wall kind of place and care more about food and extremely kind service you can find in the area.
Small place, but food was tastefully good. The hostess/ servers were very polite. Must try, XL Burrito. Too big to finish.
this place blows me away every time.. the staff is friendly and attentive but the food..... the food is so good.. the carne asada is the best I've ever had. i gave up on this dish when eating at restaurants because so many places dont cook it well. the queso is great and their variety of salsas are really really good. the chips come out hot which makes a big difference as well. We really appreciate this hidden gem in Elgin. oh and they stay open later than any other restaurant in town! another thing we like about this place is the atmosphere, its old school good food and good service, they let the food and service shine. also the only place I've found with cactus as a topper but if you think you're not a fan give it a try it makes the taco so so good! I have two pictures only because most time m so excited I forget to snap a picture. Would definitely recommend if you are in town or just passing through on 290, amazing food and service!
Went here with my wife on 05/14/2025 for a late lunch and I ordered the red enchiladas and my wife got the green, we asked for coke but they only had bottle or canned so we just went with water instead. They gave us complimentary chips and red salsa. I had to ask for the green salsa but before I did I asked if it was free and the server said yes. The plates came out to be 13.75 each and they were absolutely delicious, my wife made me switch with her because she said mine looked better. The green enchiladas were so amazing and the red ones were just as good. And the food was relatively cheap only 30.96 for both of us (without tip included) Wanted to also add that our server gave us a lemon with our water without us asking and it really tied the meal together. the water was refreshing the food was great and the restaurant itself was really cool for a 95 degree day!! Will for sure be back!!!
The food was so good! I had the 2 enchilada and 1 taco plate. I had one chicken and one cheese for the enchiladas, and all were great! There were 4 of us, and all of the other 3 loved their meals too. The ricr and beans were really good too!
This place has amazing food! The price is great and you get so much food! I would definitely recommend trying this food! The parking lot is bad, but don't let it deter you from enjoying the food here. The staff are very attentive and friendly!
Food was killer. Got the Torta Cubano and the cooks delivered. Best torta I've eaten in 30 years of life. Service was great they took care of us like we were the only customers inside even though it was a little busy. Definitely come here if you want good food and great service.
Traveling back to Houston an decided to try this little place out. Definitely was not disappointed excellent taste an portion size. Service was great. Big flavor in such a small restaurant.
